CREEKSIDE VILLAGE EAST COMMUNITY/South Ontario - On Saturday, July 20, 2013, Firemen Kevin and Billie from the Ontario Fire Department-Station 7, presented Taylor Garcia (8 yrs. old) a Life Saving Award for her quick action in removing her three year old sister Evelyn from her grandparents swimming pool on July 16. Taylor's younger brother Brennan (6 yrs. old ) was also acknowledged for his role in spotting his little sister face down in the pool, and was presented a fire truck necklace. When asked about the event Brennan stated that he was scared but, "I prayed to God and it worked." Thanks to the quick actions of the Garcia children their mom was able to resuscitate her daughter. The speedy arrival of the firemen was a blessing as they took over and made sure Evelyn was okay. Both mom and daughter were transported to Loma Linda Hospital and released early the next day. A Special Thank You goes out to the Ontario firemen from Station 7 who answered the call and to the Majestic Trophy Co. in Ontario for donating the engraved plaque.
